KARAMU: MANIFEST YOUR DREAMS

Karamu (Coprosma robusta), Lake Rotorua, Hamilton, April 2018.

Karamu is a large native bushy shrub that grows up to 6 meters high featuring glossy green leaves and bright orange-red berries. Karamu flowers from winter to summer and the fruiting period is between April and May. The seed is largely dispersed by birds which eat the fruit including Bellbirds, Tui and Silvereyes.

It is widely distributed across New Zealand in both the North and South Islands. A highly adaptable plant growing in a large range of altitude varying from 0 to 1,200 meters under full sun to shady, windy and frosty conditions. It is widely used in restoration projects for its ability to quickly establish, stabilize soil, and provide food for native birds.

Karamu is the Manifestation Essence. This is one of my favourite native plant essences, it is associated with the archetype of the Magician. It is a plant ally that helps us become a conscious channel for universal energy and bring our dreams to fruition.

Karamu supports us to know that we have everything within us needed to succeed. It promotes self belief, confidence and focus. It is a great essence when we feel overwhelmed, unable to cope or manifest what we need in our lives.

I often work with Karamu to help me focus when I have several projects on the go. Karamu is a great ally when we feel scattered, it helps us multi-task and juggle multiple things with focus and concentrated attention.
