A native plant that helps us to surrender and meet life with patience and inner grace.
Golden Corokia is a native shrub distinguished by its zig-zag interlaced branches and small, round leaves. Also commonly known as the Wire Netting Bush or Korokio. As a slow growing shrub it attains a height of 3 meters.
Naturally found in dry exposed areas, it is tolerant of very dry conditions and thrives in full or filtered sun. In spring, it has a profusion of fragrant, small, star-shaped yellow flowers that are followed by red or orange berries which provide food for native birds and lizards.
Golden Corokia is the Surrender Essence. It is the plant that helps us to see life from a different perspective. It is a great essence for 'mid-life' crisis or when there has been a reversal of interests. It supports us when our soul is being asked to let go of something of lesser value for something of greater value.
I often give Golden Corokia essence to people who are stressed, frustrated and resist letting go. It supports us to meet life with inner grace and patience. It is a helpful essence when duty or the needs of others have to predominate over one’s own personal desires, facilitating selflessness and personal sacrifice.
Golden Corokia often steps forward for people who feel like they are 'stuck in limbo', it promotes patience and when nothing is moving. It supports us when we have given up, become resigned and fatalistic, enabling us to see situations from a broader perspective and have a strong spiritual reality in the face of challenges.
