PALO SANTO
PALO SANTO (Bursera graveolens)
Palo santo, which translates literally to “holy wood” in Spanish, is the harvested wood from Palo Santo trees which are found primarily in South America and in some regions of Central America. When burnt it releases a woody scent with hints of pine, lemon, and mint. In the Shamanic history of South America, Palo Santo is said to remove negativity and obstacles and attract good fortune. Throughout Amazonia, shamans have been using Palo Santo in medicinal practices to help with relieving symptoms of common colds and flu, asthma, headaches, stress, anxiety, emotional pain and various other diseases. The uplifting and pleasantly aromatic smoke enhances the vibration of any environment, facilitates creativity, and attracts positive energy.
