WHITE SAGE SMUDGE STICKS
White sage (Salvia apiana) is a perennial evergreen shrub native to the southwestern United States and northwestern Mexico, primarily found in California’s coastal sage scrub and chaparral regions. It belongs to the Lamiaceae (mint) family and thrives in dry, well-draining soils with plenty of sunlight. The plant grows up to 1–1.5 meters (3–5 feet) tall, with silvery-green, lance-shaped leaves covered in fine hairs that give them a soft, velvety appearance. It produces small white to pale lavender flowers that attract pollinators, especially bees.
When burned, white sage emits a strong, earthy, and herbaceous aroma with hints of resinous, slightly sweet, and peppery undertones.
